A Day At The North Pole
My thoughts are as frosty as the weather outside– so bear with me. It feels like I have woken up at the North Pole.
Dear Friend,
My thoughts are as frosty as the weather outside– so bear with me. It feels like I have woken up at the North Pole. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live there? If I lived at the North Pole– I would pull my toque extra tight against the icy wind. I would hide my rosy cheeks behind a thick balaclava and bundle up in the heaviest parka I could find. I would wear oversized wool mittens and thick insulated winter boots to protect me from the tundra's icy grip. In the endless polar nights, I would wear a headlamp all hours of the day and have a pack of loyal dogs by my side to warn me from polar bears that bite! Oh– and a rifle slung across my back to protect me when danger strikes! All of my problems would freeze solid, and time would not exist. And yet, my mornings would be just as cozy as today. Here on the floor, beside the couch, I hug my coffee mug. If I could– I would dive right into it. Or at least dip my cold fingers into the hot liquid to defrost a bit. My heater is working hard to warm up my home. I look outside at the crispy snow and the cars driving past. It looks painful. Almost too slow. Like every move takes immense effort. The cold shows no mercy, and the engines covered in frost groan. I imagine this must be what it feels like to live in the North Pole. Maybe in some strange way, we have been teleported there today. But humor me here, does the North Pole even have days this cold?
